MATCH PREVIEW: RACA v JARROW - 08.02.2020 MATCH PREVIEW: RACA v JARROW - 08.02.2020

RACA and Jarrow face each other for the first time this season, with both sides looking to put last weekend's disappointments behind them.

It’s a return to league action for RACA today as we welcome Jarrow FC to Kingsley Park.

Both sides progressed through to the semi-final of the EAM Cup in midweek, with our visitors coming from a goal behind to defeat Willington AFC 2-1 at the Perth Green Stadium in Jarrow.

The Albion won 1-0 against Redcar in our respective cup tie but both sides are looking to get back to winning ways in the league after suffering similar setbacks last weekend.

Throwing away a half-time advantage to lose 2-1 at Esh Winning would have hurt RACA boss Tony Fawcett and his players, and they will see this as a perfect opportunity to bounce back as Kingsley Park has been something of a fortress this season.

League positions would indicate RACA will go into this clash as favourites, with the home side sitting 4th and Jarrow hovering around mid-table in 9th.

However, the away side have recently proved they are no mugs when challenged as the underdogs, as they took Division One side Shildon to penalties in the BMM League Cup just a fortnight ago.

They did lose the shoot-out but they will take confidence in being able to mix it with the big boys, and with windy conditions expected as Storm Ciara starts to kick off - anything can happen.

Injury wise, Fawcett is still without defender Liam Barker who is still struggling with a hamstring injury. Daniel Ord has moved to Seaton Delaval on loan for the rest of the season and forward James Thompson is also ruled out.

Kick-Off: 3pm at Kingsley Park

Tickets: Adults - £5. Kids - £2.
