RACA vs Redcar Preview: Which Side Will Bounce Back And Book A Spot In The Semi Finals?
RACA welcome Redcar Athletic to Kingsley Park in the EAM Cup on Wednesday night with both teams looking to bounce back from disappointing results at the weekend.
The Albion threw away a half-time advantage to lose 2-1 to Esh Winning while Redcar lost by the same scoreline to promotion rivals Crook Town in a crucial top of the table contest.
With these sides sitting 2nd and 3rd in the Northern League 2 there will be more than just a place in the next round at stake, as both teams will believe victory will give themselves an edge heading into the rest of the season.
The 2 sides had to settle for a point each when RACA hosted their league fixture at the turn of the year, with Redcar’s Kallum Hannah cancelling out a Scott Jasper header in the dying embers of the game.
It hasn’t been straight forward so far in this competition for RACA, as they edged past Birtley Town on penalties back in September and had to overcome a 2-0 deficit to clinch a 4-3 win against Heaton Stannington in November. However, they have been solid on their own turf so far this season and will fancy themselves as slight favourites heading into the clash.
In terms of injuries manager Tony Fawcett is without defender Liam Barker, who has still not recovered from a knock that forced him to be substituted in Saturday’s defeat. New signings Michael Bell and Benjamin Joyeux are also cup-tied for the game against the Teessiders.
