There were big wins for Esh, Jarrow and Redcar at the weekend as miserable conditions affected the north-east and its football...
Redcar heaped more misery on strugglers Durham City as they trounced the bottom of the league side 6-0 on home soil.
The goals were spread out among the Teessiders but Isaac Walker managed to bag a brace to pile the pressure on Didier Agathe’s Citizen’s side.
A couple of fixtures fell victim to the bad weather as Brandon’s home clash as Easington and Sunderland West End’s trip up north to Heaton Stannington were postponed - with bad weather plaguing most of the region on Saturday afternoon.
The Perth Green crowd witnessed a shock result as Jarrow slumped to a surprise 7-2 loss to Tow Law Town, with Mason Hurworth and Barry Smith both scoring twice to give the Lawyers an emphatic win.
Jarrow will be bitterly disappointed to be on the wrong side of an embarrassing scoreline as they were 2-0 up at half-time before the second-half capitulation to Michael Vasey’s side.
West Allotment Celtic twice came from behind to hand us our fifth defeat in six games but another resounding scoreline came at Hall Lane as Willington were battered 6-1 by an on-form Esh Winning side.
Channon North continues to score the goals for the Esh as he also netted twice to help his side climb up to seventh in the division - with Bedlington and Crook Town still leading the pack in neck-and-neck position on 16 points.
