Ryton & Crawcrook Albion kept up their remarkable 100% winning league record away from home this season with a 2-0 win against Washington on Saturday.

Late goals from captain Scott Jasper and a first for Eoghain Sherrard ensured Albion took home all three points on the road for the 5th time in the Ebac Northern Football League Division Two.

The victory and clean sheet also means Tony Fawcett's side have now recorded four consecutive wins in all competitions, and impressively, each one without conceding a goal.

Although there were no goals to show for their first half efforts at New Ferens Park, Albion dominated possession with some crisp passing and fast-flowing attacking football with Harry Outterside a constant threat down the left.

Jack Cooper and Jasper had a couple of efforts early on, but it was Jamie Dunn who had Albion's best chances in the half. First on the half-hour mark, unmarked in the box, he headed a Cooper cross - following a quick corner by Outterside - wide. A short time later, Dunn found himself in more free space, but he drilled his low shot off target.

At the other end, a mostly untroubled Josh Graham kept a strike from former Ryton forward Daniel Quine out as the team's went into the interval goalless.

The second half started brightly for Albion with Jasper going agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock after just failing to get a touch on a Cooper cross.

But it was a largely frustrating half with the match unfortunately interrupted too many times for alleged fouls and dissent. Both Alex Ramshaw and Dunn were given temporary dismissals on 70 minutes and then David Below received similar punishment, for the final 10 minutes.

A couple of rare attacks arrived from the hosts around the sin bins as Ramshaw went close and then Jak Hanson was denied brilliantly by Graham.

With the game looking to be petering out into a goalless draw, Jasper took full advantage of an error in the centre of the Washy defence on 82 minutes, picking the ball up and coolly slotting home for his 5th goal of the season.

Jasper had another chance late on, but it was substitute Sherrard who wrapped up the victory after getting on the end of Dunn’s cross deep into stoppage time for his first RACA goal.

Albion remain in third spot in the league, 7 points ahead of fourth-placed Heaton Stannington, who visit Kingsley Park on Saturday. Before that, it's the final group match in the Mitre Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup at Ashington on Tuesday night. A win against the First Division outfit will secure qualification into the last 16.
