Scott Jasper scored a brace as Ryton & Crawcrook Albion put five past neighbours Prudhoe YCFC in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.

Michael Laws gave Albion an early lead at Kimberley Park, heading in a cross from close range. Jasper doubled the lead in similar fashion after 38 minutes before Brian Dodsworth skillfully turned and finished on the stroke of half time to make it 3-0.

The visitors, who had a number of players missing for this match, had to wait until the last 10 minutes to add their fourth, substitute Daniel Ord drilling a left-footed effort into the bottom corner. And Jasper wrapped up the win in the closing stages with a scuffed effort.

Despite the convincing scoreline, manager Daniel Iredale will be hoping for an improved performance against local First Division side Whickham on Friday.

That fixture - after five away pre-season friendlies - will be RACA's first at Kingsley Park and their final test before the new league season kicks off on July 31.
