* UPDATE: Sorry to those of you excited by this proposed new stadium announcement yesterday! It was, of course, an April Fools Day joke. Thanks for all who got in touch!
Ryton and Crawcrook Albion FC can today reveal ambitious plans for an all-seater 6,000 capacity stadium at Kingsley Park.
After 18 months of hard work the club can announce the news that will bring jobs and investment into the club and the area.
Club Chairman Richard Hands said: “It’s been a tough and uncertain time with the pandemic but we felt now was the right time to announce these plans which will see us move the club considerably forward.
“With record season ticket sales last season and attendances rising we felt now was the time to give the community of Ryton and Crawcrook what they deserve."
Head of strategic business planning and development at Gateshead Council Lisa Frolop added: “We look forward to working with Ryton and Crawcrook Albion on this exciting project.
“We welcome the re-generation benefits it will bring and we will be working closely with them on any environmental issues that may arise with this development.”
Work is due to commence in May 2022 and we will be looking to ground share for the 2022/23 season. We will inform you of progress through this process.
Thank you for your continued support.
