Goals from Konner Lamb, Michael Laws, Rhys McLeod and Daniel Kent helped ensure a rampant victory for Ryton & Crawcrook Albion over Bedlington Terriers on Saturday.
Both Joe Thompson and McLeod went close on several occasions to breaking the deadlock, but it was Lamb who scored the opener on the half-hour mark. He drilled an effort low into the bottom corner from just inside the 18-yard box for his 4th goal in as many games.
Bedlington struggled to create a lot to trouble the visiting defence, although Matthew Fisher spurned an early opportunity - dragging a good opening wide - and a wind-assisted lob later was well-caught by Daniel Gladstone in the Albion goal.
Despite dominating possession and creating the majority of the clear-cut chances, Ryton only had the one-goal lead to take into the break at a very wet and windy Dr. Pit Park.
But they were not left to rue missed chances this time as they made the perfect start to the second half. An unmarked Laws easily headed in from a McLeod corner to double the lead four minutes in.
McLeod then got on the scoresheet himself on the hour-mark for his 7th of the season, getting on the end of a quick, free-flowing counter-attack. The visitors were playing some scintilating stuff at this point with the excellent Shaun Pickford orchestrating play from midfield.
And, after Lamb - who was causing all kinds of trouble for the Terriers - was fouled in the penalty area ten minutes from time, Kent cooley converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way for his first goal in RACA colours.
It could have easily been so many more but the 4-0 victory halts a three-match losing run in the Ebac Northern League Division Two and moves Daniel Iredale's men up to fourth in the table ahead of next week's home match against Horden CW.
Bedlington, who had both Keelan Nellis and Mason Stepehnson sin binned for dissent late on, have now lost six on the trot and lie in 15th spot.
